Boca Raton, FL - Present baseball standouts helped the game's future stars as Florida Atlantic University baseball players and coaches helped evaluate Boca Raton Little League players in preparation for the 2013 season. This is one of the baseball program's many community outreach events.

"We all have been helped along the way in our baseball careers. This is a good opportunity to help the next generation," said John McCormack, FAU's head baseball coach. "Our guys enjoy teaching the game to the young guys. It is great to see our players helping the young kids in the Boca Raton Little League."

The baseball program has been actively involved with the Boca Raton Little League throughout McCormack's tenure on the coaching staff. He has been leading the Owls for five years and a member of the staff since 1991.

FAU is preparing to defend the 2012 Sun Belt Conference regular-season championship. This was the team's second title in the last three seasons. The Owls also posted their 14th consecutive winning season last spring with a 32-22 overall mark, including a 19-8 SBC record.

The team is scheduled to open this season against the University of Cincinnati on Friday, February 15 at 6:30 p.m. from the FAU Baseball Stadium, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus.

Season tickets are available by contacting the FAU Ticket Office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS.
