BOCA RATON, Fla. – On the heels of its memorable 2013 campaign, the Florida Atlantic University baseball team has been ranked 34th in the CollegeSportsMadness.com preseason poll.

The Owls went 42-22 in 2013 (17-10 Sun Belt) and won the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in decisive fashion with a 16-8 victory over Louisiana in the title game. FAU advanced to the NCAA Regional Championship Game against top-seeded North Carolina, but the Tarheels took a 12-11 win in 13 innings to end FAU’s run.

Head Coach John McCormack returns 18 players who saw action last season, including ten on the pitching staff. The starting rotation includes junior Austin Gomber who compiled a record of 8-4 with 103 strikeouts and a 2.97 ERA in his sophomore campaign.
