Gainesville, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University baseball team fell 7-1 at the University of Florida on Tuesday, May 7 at McKethan Stadium. The loss drops the Owls to 28-20 on the season.

FAU opens a Sun Belt Conference series at Western Kentucky University on Friday, May 10 at 7 p.m. from Bowling Green, Ky. The Owls and Hilltoppers are tied for fourth place in the conference standings with 13-11 records.

Senior Nathan Pittman gave the visitors a 1-0 lead in the third inning with a single through the left side. The base hit scored senior Corey Keller, who started the frame by drawing a walk.

Florida used a six-run fifth inning to grab momentum. Casey Turgeon's two-run double gave the Gators a 3-1 lead in the inning.

Florida's Richie Martin and Turgeon each had two hits to pace the 10-hit offensive attack. Starting pitcher Bobby Poyner improved to 3-2 on the season, allowing one run with two strikeouts in six innings.
