Lafayette, La. - The University of Louisiana opened by scoring six first-inning runs and captured the Sun Belt Conference series against the Florida Atlantic University baseball team with a commanding 12-2 victory in seven innings on Sunday, April 21 at Tigue Moore Field.

Louisiana (27-13, 10-8 SBC) got a grand slam by Seth Harrison to start the big first inning. Dylan Butler followed with a double to plate Caleb Adams and a sacrifice fly by Joe Robbins capped the strong start.

The Ragin' Cajuns added two more runs in the second inning and Butler hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning to give Louisiana a 10-0 advantage.

FAU (26-14, 11-7 SBC) scored its first run in the fifth inning on a RBI ground out by sophomore shortstop Mitch Morales.

Louisiana took a 12-1 lead with two more runs in the fifth inning. In the seventh inning, FAU junior infielder Sean Murrell hit a run-scoring double to plate sophomore third baseman Ricky Santiago.

Louisiana's Cody Boutte struck out six batters in tossing a complete game. The left hander improved to 6-2 on the season.
