Box Score

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Sophomore Brendon Sanger hit a ninth-inning walkoff single to give the Florida Atlantic University baseball team a 3-2 victory over Charlotte on Friday in Boca Raton.

Sanger led the Owls (18-15, 6-10 C-USA), with two walks and two RBI on the night.

After fellow sophomore Billy Endris reached on an error to lead off the ninth and was moved to second when Mitch Morales drew a walk, Sanger hit a rope into left. Endris raced home and beat out the throw to give FAU its second consecutive Conference USA victory.

Charlotte (8-23-1, 1-12 C-USA) got on top in the third with two hits and an error by Gomber. The 49ers would hold that lead until FAU tied the game with runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Stephen Kerr led off the fifth with a single and advanced to third on an error. Sanger reached on another Charlotte error, allowing Kerr to score FAU's first run of the game.

Tyler Rocklein hit his seventh double of the year to lead off the sixth inning and came in to score on a sacrifice fly by CJ Chatham after Robert Buckley laid down a sacrifice bunt to move him into scoring position.
