Brendon Sanger Named Tournament's Most Outstanding Player
Junior (2012): Ended the season hitting .409 over the final six games (9-of-22) with three home runs and nine runs batted in...hit four home runs total all season...connected on first home run on year against Manhattan (2/25)...had a key home run late in the season as part of four runs batted in against UALR (5/13)...hit a home in consecutive games in the Sun Belt Conference tournament against ULM (5/24) and South Alabama (5/25)...led team with 10 stolen bases and only starting player who did not commit an error...made 37 starts in the outfield...legged out seven doubles and one triple...scored 24 runs and reached base nearly 40 percent of his plate appearances.
Sophomore (2011): Made 23 starts in his 41 appearances...one of five players to hit for the season cycle...first two hits of the season were home runs, including a pinch-hit homer against nationally ranked Florida at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter (2/22)...stole 10 bases, including two against Stony Brook (2/26) and Arkansas-Little Rock (5/13)...drove in a pair of runs in a home win over Lynn (3/2)...added two runs scored in Sun Belt Conference victory at South Alabama (4/9)...slapped two hits against Troy (4/30)...went 2-for-2 with a double in a road loss at UCF (4/19)...also made four mound appearances as a reliever...did not allow a run in three of his four relief appearances...had first career pitching performance against Northeastern (3/1)...struck out three batters in 3.1 innings.
Freshman (2010): Speedy outfielder who came on strong at the end of the season and earned a spot in the starting lineup...appeared in 45 games (19 starts) and batted .280 with three home runs and 11 RBI...scored two runs in his first collegiate start against New Orleans (4/10)...went 2-for-4 with two RBI and his first collegiate home run in a victory over Western Kentucky (4/16)...had three hits and scored two runs in the loss against Florida Gulf Coast (5/11)...hit a game-tying three-run home run in the seventh inning and recorded four RBI in a series-clinching victory over FIU (5/22)...played summer ball for the Riverhead Tomcats of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League.
High School: Played at Braden River High School for Head Coach Ryan Hilton...was an all-state and all-area selection...set school record honors for stolen bases and triples.
