Junior (2009): | Season Stats | Opening-day centerfielder and leadoff hitter... important part of the Owls' 2009 team, making 39 starts and playing in 52 of FAU's 56 games... had 12 multi-hit games, hit .308 with RISP and was 18-for-41 (.438 BA) when leading-off an inning... solid defensive outfielder, posting a fielding percentage of .988... finished the season with 40 hits and scored 30 runs... had a season-high four hits to help FAU beat Stony Brook (2/28), going 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI... went 2-for-4 with a double and a season-high two RBI against Lehigh (3/3)... went 5-for-8 in a two-game Sun Belt Conference sweep over Louisiana-Lafayette (Mar. 13-15) on the road, driving-in three runs and scoring four times... hit his first homerun at Louisiana-Lafayette (3/15)... homered one week later at Middle Tennessee State (3/20) during a 2-for-4 performance on a Friday night... drew three walks in FAU's home game with No. 2 Miami (3/25)... scored at least one run in six consecutive games in April... went 5-for-9 in a three-game series at Troy in mid-April to bring his batting average up to .312... appeared as a defense sub five times towards the end of the season... returned to the starting lineup at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament in Troy, Alabama, going 3-for-7, stealing a base and scoring twice in two postseason games.
JUCO (2007 & 2008): Named a second team all-conference outfielder as a sophomore at Broward CC...scored 44 runs in 48 games as a sophomore, hitting .339 with four home runs and 36 RBI...also hit five triples and stole nine bases in 2008...hit .315 with 12 doubles as a true freshman...played with current FAU teammate Nick Criaris at Broward CC in 2007.
High School: All-state outfielder at Miami-Dade's G. Holmes Braddock High School...the Braddock baseball program consistently produces MLB Draft picks and Division I players...Florida Sports Writers Association 6A All-State outfielder three times...coached by Manny Fernandez at Braddock...also starred as a wide receiver and kick returner on Braddock's football team.
Personal: Criminal justice major... born on Sept. 15, 1986, in Miami, FL... notes Derek Jeter and Michael Jordan as athletic idols.
