As a Junior (2005): Started the season as a starter before working out of the bullpen for the month of April and most of May...longest start was eight innings against Gardner-Webb when he only allowed one run...recorded a season-high seven strikeouts against Purdue and Georgia Southern...held a 2.1 strikeout/walk ratio.
Summer League (2004): Played for the Harrisonburg Turks in the Valley League...posted a 2-2 record with a 3.75 ERA in 35 innings...struck out 38 batters and held opponents to a .221 batting average.
As a Sophomore (2004): Acted as the team's midweek starter and picked up wins in five of his six starts...most impressive outing came at the NCAA Regional when he threw a complete game against NC State and struck out nine batters and was named to the All-Regional Team...innings pitched and strikeouts were career-highs...also got the start in the championship game of the A-Sun Tournament when he threw six innings and struck out seven while only allowing two hits...in his last three outings of the year, he threw 18.1 innings and struck out 19 while only allowing one earned run for a 0.49 ERA...picked up a save at Mercer when he threw the final 3.1 innings...held opponents to a .263 average.
Summer League (2003): Played for Kevin Winterrowd and the North Adams Steeplecats of the NECBL...allowed 20 earned runs in 50 innings for a 3.60 ERA and a 2-3 record.
As a Freshman (2003): Threw 12.2 innings in nine appearances...his season-high three innings came in his only start of the season against Kansas State...struck out a season-high four batters on February 14 against Michigan State.
High School: Attended Palm Beach Lakes High School, where he was a teammate of Matt O'Brien and played for Andy Mook...broke into the starting rotation his junior season...recorded 85 strikeouts on his way to being named Honorable Mention All-County and to the Dick Howser North All-Star Team.
Summer League: Won District II Pitcher-of-the-Year honors while playing for Post 12.
