Redshirt Junior (2013): Won three games with a 2.89 earned run average on the year...made one start and 26 appearances overall...struck out 44 batters, 15 of those were strikeouts looking, and walked 19 in 53.0 innings pitched...Only allowed 49 hits and 20 runs in the season...pulled out a 4-3 Sun Belt victory in a close away game against FIU pitching 3.1 innings with four strikeouts while giving up no runs and only two hits.
Redshirt Sophomore (2012): Ranked among the Sun Belt Conference leaders with 11 walks and was a key piece in the weekend rotation during the conference season...went 5-1 with a 3.29 earned run average...made nine starts and made 12 appearances overall...began season in the bullpen and made first start of season against Princeton (3/3)...went 5.2 innings against Princeton with three stikeouts...tossed six scoreless innings in a home Sun Belt Conference victory over Western Kentucky (5/5)...scattered four hits and had four strikeouts with no walks against the Hilltoppers...pitched the league title clinching game against FIU (5/18), giving FAU its second SBC title in the last three seasons.
Sophomore (2011): Utilized a medical redshirt year after sustaining an injury.
Freshman (2010): Made an immediate impact in the FAU starting rotation...was the Sunday starter for most of the season...finished the season as a long reliever out of the bullpen...appeared in 16 games and started nine...went 3-3 with 7.00 ERA...struck out 30 batters and walked 13 in 63.0 innings pitched...picked up his first collegiate victory in his first collegiate start, pitching six shutout innings while allowing four hits with six strikeouts and no walks in the win over Cincinnati (2/21)...picked up the win and pitched strong seven innings (longest outing of the season) in the series-clinching victory over UALR (3/21)...pitched six innings and earned win against Louisiana-Lafayette (3/28)...pitched four scoreless and hitless innings out of the bullpen to help secure a victory over Western Kentucky (4/17)...played summer ball for the Staunton Braves of the Valley League.
High School: Played at J.P. Taravella High School in Coral Springs for Head Coach Jason Stein...was a second team all-state selection and a first team all-county selection during his senior campaign...had 10-1 record with a 0.57 ERA and 77 strikeouts in 68 innings.
Personal: Son of Michael Alexander and Denise Soares...finance major...named to the FAU and Sun Belt Conference Academic Honor Roll in 2009 and 2010....worked the FAU Baseball Summer Camp in 2012.
