Fiorentino played at FAU from 2002-04 before continuing his career in professional baseball. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2004 draft and made his debut in the major leagues on May 12, 2005.
Fiorentino also played for the Oakland A's and spent time in Japan playing for the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. Fiorentino joins the Owls as a student assistant for the 2014 season.
"To have Jeff helping our guys is fantastic," McCormack said. "He was a great FAU player and of course went on to a big-league career. His experience will only help the players. I enjoyed watching him play and now I will enjoy watching him teach the next generation of FAU ball players."
