Hot Start Leads Baseball to Series-Opening Win over FIU

Owls one win away from clinching Sun Belt Conference regular-season title

Junior (2011): Second team All-Sun Belt Conference selection after being a main offensive leader in lineup... ranked second in the league with a .360 batting average that featured 17 multiple-hit performances...had nine multiple-RBI games and strung together a nine-game hitting streak...connected on three home runs and ranked second on team with 35 RBIs...legged out 16 doubles and one of five players on the team to hit for the season cycle...went 4-for-4 with three runs scored to close out first series of the season against Hofstra (3/20)...hit first career home run against Monmouth (3/5)...also recorded home runs against Florida Gulf Coast (4/5) and Western Kentucky (5/8)...drove in a career-best four runs against Troy (4/30)...slapped five hits in a home victory over Bethune-Cookman (3/30)...had multiple-hit games in five straight contests on two different occasions (3/2 to 3/8 and 4/3 to 4/10)...showed strong patience at the plate with 31 walks, including three in a road victory at rival FIU (5/20)... won the team's Iron Owl Award for the 2010 fall practice period...helped lead the Bethesda Big Train of the Cap Ripken Summer Collegiate League to a national championship, as selected by Perfect Game...named to summer league all-star and earned the game's MVP Award.
