Sophomore (2009): | Season Stats | Florida Atlantic's opening-day starter... finished the year by pitching FAU to a Sun Belt Conference postseason tournament win over rival FIU (5/21)... led the team with 64 strikeouts, working in a team-high 71 1/3 innings... registered 25 K's looking, by far the most on the FAU staff... the Owls won seven of the 11 games he started... won his second start of the year in dominant fashion, shutting out Stony Brook (2/27), allowing four hits in seven innings... held an ERA of 1.69 heading into conference play on March 6... struggled in his first Sun Belt start, losing to UALR but rebounded to register a career-high eight K's in seven innings to help FAU beat Louisiana-Lafayette (3/13)... improved to 2-2 after beating ULM (3/27) two weeks later... was unable to pick up a win in his next two Friday night starts and was moved into the Saturday spot at WKU (4/25)... would go on to make five straight relief appearances to close out the regular season... returned to form against Arkansas State (5/8) and against FIU (5/14) in a pair of must-win games down the stretch... threw four-plus shutout innings of long relief to assure the Owls of victory against ASU (5/8) and position the team for a berth in the postseason tournament... finished with six K's and threw four scoreless innings to earn his first and only save of 2009 one week later against FIU (5/14)... the two wins set up FAU's berth into the SBC tournament, where Gipson would pitch an eight-inning complete game against FIU (5/21), fanning seven and walking just one... his strong finish to the 2009 season saw him walk just two batters and strikeout 17 spanning four appearances and 18 innings.

Freshman (2008): | Season Stats | Integral part of the FAU pitching staff as a true freshman...terrific in his first six appearances as a reliever and eventually was promoted to a weekend starting position...58 K's in 62 innings...retired 10 consecutive batters in just his third collegiate outing, allowing FAU its sixth straight win--a 4-0 victory over Boston College (3/4)...five days later, closed out FAU's first Sun Belt Conference game, a 4-3 victory over Arkansas State (3/9) and earned his first save in the process...held a 2.19 ERA and 2-0 record in mid-March...moved into the starting rotation March 29 at Louisiana-Monroe, striking out six in 4-2/3 innings- received a no-decision...struck out a season-high seven on two occasions, first vs. Troy (4/12) in his third start in which he pitched into the seventh while allowing just one earned run...used as the closer in late April before moving back into a starting role May 6 vs. Bethune-Cookman...pitched a complete game, matching a season-high with seven K's and allowing just two earned runs against BCU (5/6)...was effective in helping FAU win a Sun Belt Conference Championship elimination game vs. Western Kentucky (5/24)...credited with a 4-2 record and a 6.10 ERA.
