HOUSTON -- The third of four days at the 2018 Conference USA Outdoor Championship wrapped up with points gained by Erica Lersch, and Crystal McDougle and Anne-Catherine Wasser qualifying for Sunday finals, for Florida Atlantic University track and field.
- Racing in the 3000 meter steeplechase for the first time ever, Lersch placed fourth in a time of 11:15.61. That is also the fourth-fastest time in FAU program history
- McDougle ran third in the 100 meter hurdle preliminaries, crossing in 13.98, while Wasser was fifth in the 400mH, in 1:01.05
- Another top 10 showing came in the high jump as Frida Thorsås tied for ninth with a height of 1.61 meters
Besides McDougle and Wasser, two Owls will compete in field events Sunday (Esther Mitchell in the triple jump and Thorsås in the javelin), relay teams will run the 4x100 and 4x400, and a host of Owls will race in the 5,000 meters. Events get underway in the afternoon, with the final race -- the 4x400 relay -- going off at 9 p.m. Central at Wendel D. Ley Track.
