The Owls will Compete in the UM Invitational This Weekend
Kimberly Jones will compete in the 5000m

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The women’s track and field team return to Coral Gables for the Hurricane Alumni Invitational hosted at the University of Miami. The meet scheduled for Friday, April 8th and 9th is the fourth time in 2016 the Owls have traveled to the UM campus to compete.

The meet begins Friday with the heptathlon which Frida Thorsås will be competing in. On Saturday Ashley Stewart with compete in the high jump, and Mar’Rhea Everheart will compete in the long jump.

On the distance side senior Kia Heller-Spencer will be the veteran along with teammates Christina Humphries, Jasmine Van Tine, Emily Latimere and Christina Schultz will represent FAU in the 1500m event. Cary Fontanez, Bethany Hardcastle, Humphries and Brinson also will compete in the open 800m run. In the women’s 5000m run, seniors Clare Brinkman, Kimberly Jones will be the veteran along with Schultz, Van Tine, Clark, Ciarco, Grade Mendez and Kelsey Meltzer.

On the sprint side, in the 110m hurdles, Stewart, Crystal McDougle and Cassidy Smith will compete. In the 100m dash Leila Elliot, Assata Trader. Deja Jones and Jada Massie. Will compete. In the 400m hurdles, McDougle and Smith will compete. In the 4 by 100m relay the team is comprised of Jones, Sitia Martinez, Massie and Regina Wilkerson. In the 400m run Berneta Boldin will compete. In the 200m dash Wilkerson, Massie, Sherline Valentin, Elliot, Boldin, Trader and Everheart will compete. The meet will close with the 4 by 400m relay with two teams comprised of Martinez, Wilkerson, Boldin and Valentin, and the second team comprised of Elliot, Fontanez, Hardcastle and Brinson.



The results will be posted to on completion of the meet.
