CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Eight combined runners from the Florida Atlantic University men’s and women’s track and field squad, all competing in the 5,000 meters, completed the first day of the Hurricane Invitational at Cobb Stadium, the team’s first meet of the indoor season.
- All three men that ran blew past their PR’s and are now eighth, ninth and 11th on the program’s all-time list: Jonathan Werble finished eighth Friday night (15:50.73), Ross Rabalais was 11th (15:52.44) and John Marting placed 13th (16:03.11)
- Freshman Emily Ludwig was the top competing female runner, eighth of 22 finishers, while breaking 19 minutes for the first time (18:51.44)
- Joining her in the top 10, in 10th, was Jasmine Van Tine (19:07.38), and a slot behind her was Johanna Freeman (19:10.28)
- Also setting new personal bests were Kali Hazera and Kelsey Meltzer
