BOCA RATON, FL - Standout performances by senior swimmer Eric Williams and freshman track runner Ronja Siekmann have earned the pair Florida Atlantic University's student athlete of the week award.

Williams was honored at FAU's senior swim meet last Saturday and proved that he is going to finish his career as a top performer. He took first in the 50-yard free against FIU and Indian River State College with a final time of 1:04.68. Williams was the Owls' top finisher in the dual meet the week before against University of Florida. He captured two victories in the 50-yard free (21.02) and 100-yard free (45.93).

FAU's swimming and diving teams travel to Daytona on Saturday, February 2 to compete against Daytona Beach State College before heading to Orlando for the three-day All Star Meet, February 8-10.

It's only been a few weeks since indoor track season began yet freshman Ronja Siekmann has already shown that she plans to be a top performer for the Owls. Siekmann broke into FAU's all-time top-10 in two events last weekend at the Jimmy Carnes Invitational in Gainesville. She is now third all-time in the long jump with 5.49m record and fourth all-time in the 55-meter hurdle with a final time of 08.13. Siekmann will compete in her third collegiate meet this weekend.

The track team leaves Florida for the first time this season for the Akron Invitational in Ohio on February 1-2 before competing in Boston on February 8 at the BU Valentine Invitational.
