GREENSBORO, NC - Florida Atlantic University's Danielle Aromashodu took a 28th-place finish at the 2013 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor track and Field Preliminary Championships today.
Aromashodu ran the 400 meter hurdles in 00:59.38, just 0.34 of a second short of the 59.04 qualifying time. The top-24 runners advance to the next round. This was the junior's third time competing in the NCAA DI Preliminaries. Last year, she finished 34th overall with a time of 1:00.54 and improved her NCAA time by more than a second.
Today's meet draws Aromashodu 2013 season to a close. She used the year to become the Sun Belt Conference leader in the 400 meter hurdles. Her 58.33 finish in the finals of the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships bettered her school record and earned her first-place. Aromashodu also earned first-team all-conference honors as a result of her first-place performance.
