Track and Field Completes First Day of C-USA Outdoor Championships

HOUSTON, Texas- The Florida Atlantic University track and field team opened up competition at the 2014 Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday. Ashley Stewart competed in the heptathlon events.

Stewart finished Thursday's women's heptathlon events with 2,665 points, good for ninth place, with three events remaining. The sophomore set a new personal record in the 100 meter hurdles with a final time of 14.57 for a fifth-place finish. Her time ranks her eighth on FAU's all-time top-10 list. She recorded 1.55 meters in the high jump for seventh-place and 6.94 meters in the shot put for 14th. To round out the heptathlon events, Stewart finished ninth in the 200 meter dash crossing the finish line in 26.46.

Friday will conclude the remaining heptathlon events and FAU's Chloe Sell will race in the women's 10,000 meter run
