Thorsås Opens C-USA Outdoor Championship with a New Lifetime Best
Sophomore Frida Thorsas looks to repeat in the Heptathlon.

Day One Results

The first day of the Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championship saw Florida Atlantic University's Frida Thorsås set a new lifetime best in the 100m hurdles. Thorsas finished day one of the heptathlon with a score of 3,075 with three events remaining.

The sophomore finished in fourth place in the 100m hurdles with a collegiate best time of 14.26. In the second event of the day, she competed in the high jump and placed sixth overall with a height of 1.59m.

In the shot put, Thorsås claimed second place with a mark of 12.36m. To end the night, she took 12th in the 200 meter dash in 26.85. Thorsås currently holds the school record in the heptathlon with 5,465 points and is ranked third in C-USA.

Friday, May 13 will feature the remaining heptathlon events, which includes the long jump, javelin and 800 meter run. Competition is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. ET. The women's 10,000 meter will also take place at 8 p.m. ET. The meet will be streamed live here and real-time results can be found here.
