JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Florida Atlantic University track and field team competed in Jacksonville on Saturday, April 26 at the North Florida Invitational, the Owls' final regular season meet.
Danielle Aromashodu recorded her second best time ever in the 400 meter hurdles with a final time of 58.82. The senior earned second-place at the meet and extended her lead in Conference USA. Sitia Martinez and Lauren Walton also competed in the event, picking up fourth and fifth place, respectively.
Deja Jones finished section one of the 100 meter dash in sixth-place with a final time of 11.84, a new personal record. Regina Wilkerson followed in seventh-place in 11.85. Sitia Martinez finished the second section of the event in second-place with a final time of 11.88 for a new personal record.
In the 200 meter dash, Wilkerson and Jones both recorded personal records. Wilkerson finished fourth in the first section of the event, crossing the finish line in 24.15. Jones finished sixth in 24.50. Rounding out FAU's competitors at the meet was Nathaly Gallego in the 5k. The freshman improved her previous personal record by more than 30-seconds, finishing in 20:17.10 for 10th-place.
FAU will compete in its first Conference USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday, May 15. The three-day event will take place in Houston, Texas.
