PHILADELPHIA, PA -Chloe Sell's performance in the College Women's 10K Championship at the 119th annual Penn Relays highlighted Florida Atlantic University's performance as the freshman's finish placed her in third for the Sun Belt Conference. Sell's No.3 SBC ranking is a great achievement this being her first time ever competing in the event at FAU.
Four student-athletes and two relay teams qualified to compete in the Penn Relays, which hosts competitors from over 200 colleges across the country. Sell finished in 19th-place for the 10K with a final time of 36:49.78.
Danielle Aromashodu qualified to compete in the College Women's 400m Hurdles Championship. Aromashodu has ranked at the top of the SBC in the event for the entire outdoor track season thus far. The junior finished 17th with a final time of 1:00.68. Aromashodu's teammate from Florida Atlantic, Lauren Walton also competed in the 400m hurdles taking 40thplace in a time of 1:02.61.
The women's 4x400 relay team also finished 40th, in 3:51.95. The team consisted of Aromashodu, Annalisa Myers, Valerie Dixon and Walton. Stacy Paton rounded out the Thursday night competitors for FAU, running in the Olympic Development Women's 5K. Paton finished in 18:31.19 for a 31st place finish.
Florida Atlantic competed in their final event on Friday night, the College Women's Sprint Medley Championship of America. The team of Aromashodu, Walton, Myers and Dixon finished 27th in 4:06.66.
The Penn Relays marked the last track and field meet for FAU before the Sun Belt Conference Championships. The Owls will compete for three days in Miramar, Florida on May 10-12.
