Owls Set School Record in Distance Relay at Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic University track and field team competed in three relay events on the second day of the 2014 Pepsi Florida Relays. The Owls’ distance medley relay team recorded FAU’s top finish for the day and set a school record for the outdoor event.

The distance relay team, including Kia Heller-Spencer, Lauren Walton, Valerie Dixon and Chloe Sell, finished in 12:31.11 for 13th-place. FAU’s 4x100 meter relay team finished in 38th-place with a final time of 46.49. The team consisted of Deja Jones, Sitia Martinez, Nicole Poole and Regina Wilkerson. To conclude Saturday’s events, Martinez and Jones competed in the 4x400 meter relay with Danielle Aromashodu and Tanisha Coppin. The team finished in 3:43.05 for the school’s fifth-best time in history.

The Florida Relays will conclude on Sunday, April 6 at Percy Beard Track.
