Ronja Siekmann Broke FAU's Record in the Pentathlon

JONESBORO, AR - Florida Atlantic University's track team traveled to Arkansas over the weekend to compete in the Sun Belt Indoor Championships. The Owls finished in ninth place overall with standout performances by Ronja Siekmann and Valerie Dixon who both picked up second-place finishes.
Siekmann not only finished the pentathlon in 2nd-place, the freshman also broke the school record with a final score of 3637 points. She also placed third for FAU's all-time records in the shot put (11.66 m). Senior runner Valerie Dixon also took 2nd-place with a final time of 2:12.30 in the 800 meter run. Her time placed her in third for FAU's all-time 800 meter record.
Florida Atlantic had four more individuals place in the school's all-time top-10 records from the Sun Belt Championships. Chloe Sell, a freshman on the team, earned an eighth place finish in the 5,000 meter run, placing in fourth for FAU's record list. Tara Cripe's 16th place finish in the same event put her at eighth place for FAU. Jessica Jetmore took 10th at the championships and second for the school's all-time record in the pole vault (03.40) and Stacy Paton's final time in the 1-mile (5:12.25) put her in 13th place at the championships and seventh for FAU.
The Owl's relay teams received top-10 finishes over the weekend, both earning a spot on FAU's all-time record list as well. Tanisha Coppin, Anna-Lisa Myers, Danielle Aromashodu and Valerie Dixon ran the 4 x 400 relay. The team placed fifth, with a final time of 3:49.31, and now holds the second best time for FAU. The distance relay team included Helen Mann, Amanda Worley, Tia-Rose Raymond, and Stacy Paton. With a time of 12:17.32, the team picked up eighth place and placed in third for FAU's record list.
