AKRON, Oh. - The Florida Atlantic University track team traveled to Ohio over the weekend for the Akron Invitational. Standout performances by eleven runners landed them on the Sun Belt Conference's indoor track top performance list.
The Owls top performers at the Akron Invitational were Ronja Siekmann and Tatiana David who both made the Sun Belt performance list in multiple events. Siekmann topped the Sun Belt's indoor pentathlon list with 3,586 points while David is placed at third with 3,445. David broke into two additional top performance lists, the 55m hurdle (8.17) and the long jump (5.42m). Siekmann also made the shot put top performances list with 11.60m.
The following runners also made the Sun Belt's indoor track performance list:
- Annalisa Myers, 400 meter (6th, 57.38)
- Chloe Sell, 3,000 meter (11th, 10:21.42)
- Stacy Paton, 5,000 meter (4th, 18:13.83)
- Megan Bary, 5,000 meter (16th, 19:03.14)
- 4 x400 meter relay team (3rd, 3:51.30)
- 4,000 distance medley (5th, 13:03.77)
FAU travels to Boston on Friday, February 8 for the BU Valentine Invitational. The Owls then finish indoor track season at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships in Jonesboro, Arkansas on February 24-25.
