FAU Opens Indoor Track Season at Gator Invitational

The Owls posted a great performance with several athletes breaking into FAU's all-time top-10 and several set personal records.

Junior (2012): At the season's first indoor meet, was sixth in the high jump (1.56 meters), and part of two top-three relay teams (second in the distance medley and fourth in the 4x400)...jumped 1.58 meters at the BU Valentine Invitational...sixth at the Sun Belt Indoors, with a 1.62 meter the first outdoors, the UM Hurricane Invitational, was second in the high jump (1.55m)...participated in her first 400 meter dash of the season at the UNF North Florida Invitational, and finished eighth (56.30)...lowered that time to 56.24 at the UM Alumni Invite, finishing 15th...was also part of the fifth-place finishing 4x400 meter relay there...set a new PR in the preliminaries in the 400 at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, 55.32, placing her fourth at that time...finished seventh in the finals at 56.73...combined with Danielle Aromashodu, Valerie Dixon and Annakay Dennis to play second in the 4x400.

Sophomore (2011): Finished as runner-up at the outdoor FAU Invitational in the 400 meters (56.00)...improved to 55.39, and finished 10th, at the UCF Invitational...her 4x400 relay team finished fifth there.

Freshman (2010): Made her FAU debut at the Sun Belt Indoor Championships, competing in the high jump and finishing sixth...Had a jump of 1.63 meters, which is still her PR...jumped 1.60 meters at the FAU/FIU Invitational, giving her a runner-up finish...ran her first 400 meters as an Owl at the Tom Jones Memorial (58.35)...lowered that to 58.07 and a 12th-place finish at the Sun Belt Outdoor Championships...was also part of the SBC runners-up there, in the 4x400.

High School: Three-time gold medalist and two-time silver medalist at Boys and Girls Championships in captain as a senior...won awards for athletic and academic excellence...ran for coach Michael Carr.

Personal: Political science major...born in St. Catherine, Jamaica...daughter of Pauline and Samuel Myers...professional goal is to become an attorney...hobbies include dancing, listening to music, reading, shopping and socializing with friends.
