Boca Raton, FL - The Florida Atlantic University women's cross country team will be one of the top contenders for this Saturday's Sun Belt Conference championship, being picked to tie for second place in a prediction poll of league coaches. Meanwhile, the men's team was picked ninth for the meet taking place in Bowling Green, Ky.

The women's team, which placed second in last year's championships, has finished in the top five in all of its races this season. The squad features freshman Michelle Jax, the league's reigning runner of the week after winning the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic; Rebecca Hallam, who earned all-conference team honors after a sixth-place finish last year; and senior Lindsay Lucas, who led the Owls in their meet at UCF earlier this fall.

Meanwhile, the men's team has had a strong season, placing in top 12 in each of its meets this year. Junior Josh Wolfe anchors the team after setting an FAU course record in last year's championships. Ryan Davis, another talented junior, has finished in the top three in each meet this season.
