Hallam Named First Team Academic All-District by CoSIDA/Capital One

Record-breaking distance runner Rebecca Hallam has been named Academic All-District by CoSIDA/Capital One.

Hallam, a spring graduate of FAU, was named to the District 4 Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Division I First Team. She majored in exercise science and earned a 3.91 cumulative G.P.A.

“It’s great that all of Rebecca’s hard work and success has been recognized with such a prestigious award,” said Alex Smolka, FAU head track and cross country coach. “She’s not only a role model to the rest of the team with her athletic performances but also with her dedication to academics.”

Hallam just recently finished her career at FAU with three school records to her credit, and at the year-end senior awards banquet, was named FAU’s female “Student-Athlete of the Year.” Overall, the native of Dundas, Ontario, Canada, has her had name appear in the top 10 of various events she ran at FAU 19 times.
