ORLANDO, FL - Stacy Paton got the first top-10 finish for an FAU cross country runner in this young season, notching seventh at the Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
Paton, running unattached, crossed the finish line in 19:20.10. Towards the team standings, the first five finishers running for the women's squad finished within 23 seconds of each other.
On the men's side, Sean Herring, also running unattached, was the first Owls finisher. He was 25th, completing the 8K in 27:35.79. Hunter Wampler was the first runner to count towards the team's ninth place finish, placing 38th at 28:04.16. Michael Vidal was just behind him in 40th (28:15.34).
The squads are right back at it again this weekend as they head to Orlando again this Friday, October 12. They are competing in the UCF Knights Attack Challenge.
