GAINESVILLE, FL - The FAU men's and women's cross country team took part in the extremely competitive Mountain Dew Invitational hosted by the University of Florida on Saturday.

The women finished eighth out of 18 teams competing. For the third straight week, senior Stacy Paton turned in the best time for the squad, crossing the finish line in 19:24.46, good enough for 36th place. Tara Cripe was second on the team, as she has been all three weeks, and set a new personal record at 19:47.33. Starting less than a minute after her, a pack of four Owls (Megan Bary, Chloe Sell, Tia-Rose Raymond and Hannah Neustadt) all finished within five seconds of one another in a very balanced attack.

On the men's side, Michael Vidal was again the team's first finisher, shaving off more than two minutes from his last meet time to place 32nd (26:17.54). Eric Kessler, second again this week, was about a minute and half quicker, finishing at 27:15.07. He, Hunter Wampler (27:33.88), and Christian Small (28:14.71) all set new personal records.  The men finished 13th as a squad.

The teams have their next meet on Saturday, October 6, at the Disney Wide World of Sports Invitational.
