Paton, Vidal Tops for XC at USF Invitational

TAMPA, FL - The FAU women's and men's cross country squads placed fifth and seventh, respectively, at Friday night's USF Invitational.

For the second straight week, the women's 1-2-3 was Stacy Paton, Tara Cripe and Katey CoDyre. Paton finished 15th as she did in her previous meet, this time running the 5K race in a time of 20:15.78. Cripe was 25th (20:48.84) and CoDyre 32nd (21:11.61).

Sophomore Michael Vidal paced the men with a 22nd place finish in the 8K, at 28:27.10. Eric Kessler was just behind him in 25th at 28:32.59, while Neil Coffman finished 30th (28:41.88).

In all, nine men and 14 women competed on Friday. The squads are back at it again this Saturday at the University of Florida's Mountain Dew Invitational in Gainesville.
