Sophomore Danielle Aromashodu has been honored as a member of the Division I All-Academic Track & Field team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To qualify for the team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and, as an outdoor track athlete, participated in the NCAA Division I Championships. Aromashodu holds a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.32, and ran the 400 meter hurdles at last year’s NCAA East Preliminaries, finishing sixth in her heat and 34th overall, in a time of 1:00.54. She missed qualifying for the next round by less than a second.
The Miami native is the FAU record holder in the 400 meter hurdles, running a 59.15 as a freshman on April 28, 2011. She is the two-time defending Sun Belt Conference Champion in the event, and has five of FAU’s top 10 all-time outdoor 400 meter hurdle marks.
