Clemson, SC. - The Florida Atlantic track and field team broke two school records at the Orange & Purple Classic hosted by Clemson University in one of its final tune-ups for the NCAA East Regional. The 4x100m relay team barely broke its own school record while Ashley Stough out-did herself by breaking her own discus record.
Stough, the lone representative of the field events, finished tied for eighth place with her record breaking discus throw of 43.36m. Stough proceeded to finish seventh overall in the hammer throw with a throw of 44.80.
McCoy would finish another event in the top six with a sixth place finish in the 200m dash with a time of 24.27. McCoy has finished in the top ten of every 200m event she has run in this year.
Helenor Wilson finished her fourth consecutive 400m hurdle event in the top five with a fifth place finish. Her time of 1:01.93 marks her third consecutive race with a time under 1:02.
Raynell Hagberg finished seventh overall in the 1500m run with a personal best time of 4:39.58. This was the first time that Hagberg participated in this event this year.
FAU participates in its final meet before the NCAA East Regional on Saturday, May 16, at the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, GA.
