Relay Team Has High Finish For FAU Track in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, FL - With less than three weeks left before the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Championships, the Florida Atlantic women's track team took part in the Tom Jones Memorial Classic on Saturday, picking up nine top-10 finishes, led by a 3rd-place relay squad.

The 4x400 meter combination of Danielle Aromashodu, Annakay Dennis, Dana Cannon and Valerie Dixon earned that finish with a time of 3:51.93. Aromashodu added an eighth place finish in the 400 meter hurdles, crossing the line at 1:00.82.

In two events, the Owls had multiple top-10 marks. In the triple jump, Joelle Etienne (11.45 meters) and Tatiana David (11.40) were sixth and seventh, respectively. Later, in the 1500 meters, FAU finished 7-8-9: Deanna Loafman (4:55.29), Helen Mann (4:55.37) and Paige Lawton (5:01.47).

David also had a 10th-place finish in the 100 meter hurdles, at 15.06, while Anna-Lisa Myers earned that same slot in the 400 meter dash, at 55.36.

The final competition the Owls will compete in before the SBC Championships starts on Thursday. That is the first day of the famed Penn Relays, held in Philadelphia,
