Helenor Wilson set a new school record in the 400m with a time of 56.40.

Coral Gables, FL - Florida Atlantic University's track and field team saw three school records fall at the Gatorade Invitational hosted by the University of Miami in the team's last tune-up before the Atlantic Sun Conference Championships. Jian Jones, 100m, Helenor Wilson, 400m, and Raynell Hagberg, 800m, all set school records.
Jones, a sophomore from Tallahassee, FL, finished fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.91 seconds, breaking the record previously held by Daquia McCoy. McCoy, sixth, ran an 11.93 100m dash, tying the previous record. McCoy finished 11th in the 200m dash with a time of 24.37 while Jones finished 12th with a time of 24.63. Malika Clary and Marilyn Stephens tied for 14th with a time of 24.69.
Wilson broke her own record in the 400m by finishing with a time of 56.40 seconds. Shannon Demarest ran the 400m in 1:00.17.
Hagberg surpassed her own record in the 800m dash by nearly two seconds, finishing third individually with a time of 2:09.91.
The 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams finished sixth and seventh after finishing with times of 46.74 and 3:49.98, respectively.
Florida Atlantic continues its season at the A-Sun Championships on Friday, April 16 in Orlando, FL
