BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's women's track team participated in its largest meet of the year, April 2 and 3, at the South Florida Invitational. Daquia McCoy and the 4x100 relay team had the best finishes for the Lady Owls. McCoy placed second in the 200m-dash with a time of 24.88. The relay team was FAU's lone first place finish. In all, the meet hosted 18 teams, including national powers Michigan and Florida.
FAU dominated the 200m, as Stephens and Jones also placed within the top five. Stephens complete the race in 24.13, good enough for fourth place. Meanwhile, Jones captured fifth place with a time of 25.40.
Claudia Beitel captured FAU's other top-five finish. The senior placed third in the 1500m. Beitel had a time of 4:33.51.
In the 400m, Helenor Wilson set a new FAU school record with a time of 56.91. Her finish was good enough for 7th place.
The Lady Owls next compete at the Gatorade Invitational, April 10, in Coral Gables, FL.
