Nina Panebianco took fourth in the Javelin at the UCF Invitational

Orlando, FL - Daquia McCoy placed first in the 100m, as Florida Atlantic University opened up its outdoor track season at the University of Central Florida Invitational, Saturday afternoon, in Orlando, FL. Overall, the Lady Owls set three school records and recorded five first-place finishes. McCoy's 11.93, 100m finish, bested her own FAU record of 11:94.
Claudia Beitel captured two first-place finishes for the Lady Owls. Beitel won the 1500m with a time of 4:37.72. The senior also took the 3000m in 10:24.77. Beitel's performance in the 3000m was one of three top-four finishes for FAU in the 3000m.
The last two first-place finishes came from Ashley Stough. Stough broke the school-record discus throw of 43.72 meters. That throw was tops at the invitational. Stough also placed first in the hammer throw with a 47.21m toss.
Also setting an FAU school record was junior Amy Springer. Springer ran the 2000m steeplechase in 7:59.32. That time earned Springer a third-place finish.
The Lady Owls next run at the Disney Relays, March 12 and 13 in Orlando, FL.
