Malika Clary broke two school records and finished in the top five in three events.

Baton Rouge, LA. - The young track team from Florida Atlantic University showed they could compete with the big time schools as the Lady Owls finished in the top-five in four events at the Louisiana State Invitational Friday night. FAU saw four of its records break in the 4x400m relay, 60m dash, 200m dash and the weight throw.
Malika Clary broke the 60m and 200m only a week after they had been set. Clary finished fourth overall out of 37 runners in the 60m with a time of 7.72 and fifth overall out of 30 runners in the 200m with a time of 25.11. Former high school teammate Jian Jones finished just a step behind Clary as the freshman from Tallahassee finished fifth overall in the 60m with a time of 7.76. Daquia McCoy, the previous record holder of the 200m, finished sixth overall in the 200m with a time of 25.28.
Helenor Wilson and Cindy Lane both finished in the top-ten out of 22 runners in the 400m. Wilson ran a time of 59.06 to finish seventh while Lane ran a time of 59.42 to finish eighth. Kathryn Murnane set personal bests in the 800m and one mile run as the freshman finished fourth overall in the mile with a time of 5:21.85.
The Lady Owls best finish came in the 4x400m relay with the team of Wilson, Jones, Lane and Clary finishing second overall with a program record time of 3:55.17.
Ashley Stough broke the final school record in the weight throw. The junior from Arizona finished fourth in that event with a throw of 48 feet, 2 inches and Nina Panebianco finished fifth with a throw of 44 feet, four inches.
