Dr. Hedendal joined the FAU staff as a volunteer assistant in fall 2008. He is a current World-Class Master's track & field champion- having won seven World, USA and Australian titles in four men's masters age divisions in the since 1997. He set the World record in the 98 lb weight throw in 1998, and is the current World Master's Games Record Holder in the men's 50 Weight Pentathlon.
He received a B.A. from Harvard College (cum laude), his Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) from New York College of Chiropractic, and a PhD in Holistic Nutrition from Clayton College of Natural Health. A member of MENSA, diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management, certified instructor for the International Craniopathic Society, BioCranial Academy and SacroOccipital Research Society International, Dr. Hedendal has taught professional educational and research seminars in chiropractic, sports nutrition, and complementary/integrative healthcare throughout the USA, Australia and Japan since 1977. As former Research Director of the International Systemic Health Organization (I.S.H.O), a multidisciplinary research society of physicians, Dr. Hedendal has studied the health effects of specific frequencies of bio-energy on human health and disease.
Dr. Hedendal has two books in pre-publication: one on the superior health benefits of coconut oil and products (including over 125 recipes), and Everything You Knew About Exercise Was Wrong, scheduled to be published by Winter 2008, on the incredible hormonal youthing, strength enhancing, fat-burning and aesthetic benefits of high intensity, short duration exercise the (as of yet) little known superior fitness paradigm for people of all ages.
