Relay Team Has High Finish For FAU Track in Gainesville

One of nine top-10 finishers for squad

Freshman (2012): Set a new FAU school record in the season-ending Sun Belt Outdoor Championships, with 4,396 points in the heptathlon...competed in three events her first meet, the Jimmy Carnes Invitational: the 55 meters, 55 meter hurdles and triple jump...was third with a 11.38 meter leap in that last event...her 11.45 meter jump at the BU Valentine Invitational gave her fifth place...finished 25th out of 75 hurdlers at that meet at the 60 meter distance...was 14th at the SBC Indoor Championships in a time of 8.52, and 16th in the triple jump (11.32m)...competed in the 100 meter hurdles, long jump and triple jump at the UM Hurricane Invitational...was second in the triple jump (11.72 meters) and third in the long jump (5.45 meters)...started to begin her preparation for the heptathlon at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational, participating in the long jump, triple jump (finishing seventh), shot put, 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter dash...at the Outdoor Championships, her finishes were as follows: triple jump (11.46m, 10th), 200 meter dash (26.13, seventh), 800 meter run (2:28.91, fourth), 100 meter hurdles (14.55, fourth), high jump (1.49m, 11th), long jump (5.16m, fifth), shot put (8.32m, 12th) and javelin (24.26m, eighth)...her overall finish in the heptathlon was seventh.

High School: Placed seventh in the triple jump at the 2011 FHSAA Class 4A Championship...was named team's Rookie of the Year her freshman year...graduated top 15% of her class and cum laude...ran for coaches Nathaniel Hudson and Antoinette Major.

Personal: Born in Miami...daughter of Viergela Vilson...loves to read, write poems and listen to music.
