More than 250 FAU Student-Athletes Earn a GPA of 3.0 or Greater for Fall 2012 Semester

Eight student-athletes were named to the president's list after earning a perfect 4.0 GPA for fall 2012.


More than 150 FAU Student-Athletes Recognized by the SBC

153 achieved a 3.0 or higher in 2011-12

Sophomore (2012): Successfully defended her Sun Belt Conference championship in the 400 meter hurdles, running her season-best time, 59.59...placed second in that event at the first outdoor meet of the year, the UM Hurricanes Invitational, at 1:01.95...bested that time at the crowded Florida Relays (1:00.32), finishing 25th out of 56 competitors...was sixth at the UM Alumni Invite (1:01.53), eighth at the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational (1:00.82) and 13th at the Penn Relays (1:01.10)...in the indoor season opener, the Jimmy Carnes Invitational, placed fourth in the 400 meter dash (58.25)...was also part of the 4x400 meter relay team that finished fourth at that event...had her personal-best time in the 400 dash at the BU Valentine Invitational (57.75)...named to the All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA for the second straight season.

Freshman (2011): SBC champion in the 400 meter hurdles and 4X400 meter relay...broke the FAU school record in the 400m hurdles at the Penn Relays, clocking in a time of 59.15...qualified for the USA Junior National track & field meet by placing fourth in the 400 meter hurdles at Hurricane Alumni Invitational in early April, creating a new career best time of 59.63...however, was not able to participate in the meet due to injury...participated in the 400 meter hurdles at the NCAA East Preliminaries, posting a time of 1:01.61...twice named Sun Belt Conference Female Runner of the Week.

High School: Ran for coach Javier Nora...has been named to her high school Hall of Fame...named Outstanding Miami-Dade Scholar Athlete and First Team All-Dade in track while winning state championship in 300 meter low hurdles...graduated Magna Cum Laude and was named best all-around student-athlete...had third fastest 300 meter hurdles time in the nation.

Personal: Exercise science major...daughter of Dorothy and Inkey Aromashodu...brother, Devin, played football at Auburn and currently plays in the NFL for the Minnesota Vikings...hopes to become a orthopedic surgeon and run professionally...hobbies playing volleyball and going to football games.
