For the second straight match, Donegan was the Owls’ low man, this week leading the squad to a fifth-place finish in the Cobra-PUMA Invitational in Fort Myers. The freshman, from Okeechobee, Fla., tied for fourth in the two-day event, shooting an 8-under par total of 208. His 5-under 67 on Monday was the lowest round by an FAU golfer since Clinton Wilhelm shot that on February 28, 2012, and his finish at 8-under represents the lowest three-round tournament score for an Owl since Adam Kolloff shot 11-under all the way back in March of 2007.
Senior swimmer Bucz led the Owls in their 2012-13 opener, the All-Florida Invitational, with five top-10 finishes, including the team’s first win of the year. Bucz finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke, hitting the wall in a time of 2:16.09, defeating rivals from the University of Florida, the University of Miami, and Florida State University, among others. The senior native of Budapest, Hungary, added a runner-up finish in the 400-yard IM (4:20.66) and a fourth-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (4:58.26). She was also eighth in the 200-yard IM (2:13.29) and ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:06.28).
