BOCA RATON, Fla. -
Florida Atlantic University men’s swimming and diving team will join the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association (CCSA) for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
“We thank the CCSA and Executive Director Ted Gumbert for accepting us into their league,” said Pat Chun, FAU Vice President and Director of Athletics. “We are happy to have a home conference for the men’s swimming and diving program. The squad looks forward to competing in the league.”
The CCSA is an NCAA Division I men’s and women’s swimming conference consisting of members from the Atlantic Sun, Big South, Mid-Eastern Athletic, Sun Belt, Southland, America East and Southern conferences.
The Owls will join Old Dominion as one of two new men’s members of the conference that is currently comprised of Gardner-Webb, Howard, Incarnate Word, New Jersey Institute of Technology, UMBC, and VMI. The FAU men's swimming and diving team previously did not have a conference affiliation.
“The FAU men’s swimming and diving team is thrilled to join a competitive and exciting conference,” said Lara Preacco, head swim and dive coach. “As a program, we are making a move in a challenging, but positive direction by joining the CCSA on the men’s side. I believe this new conference will inspire and motivate us to push ourselves further athletically and academically.”
The 2015-16 men’s schedule will be announced in August.
