FAU Competes in First Day of C-USA Championships

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Florida Atlantic women's swimming and diving team will be competing this week in the Conference USA Championship hosted at Georgia Tech. The meet spans from Wednesday through Saturday.

The championship will be broadcast on ESPN3 all week and fans can keep up with live results here.


It was a short first day for swimmers with only two events taking place

Spence Atkins led the Owls off in the 800 yard freestyle relay followed by Natalie Clausen, Kyleigh Firman and anchored by Sharon Kok. The squad finished in 7:28.13, a season-best time, for a fifth place finish.

The FAU team of Miranda Fellowes, Abigail Marshall, Kyleigh Firman and Melanie Doan earned sixth place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.11, a season-best for the Owls.

The meet continues on Thursday with the 50 and 500 yard freestyle and the 200 yard IM. The diving portion will also get underway with the 3 meter event.
