ATHENS, Ga. - The Florida Atlantic University men's swimming and diving team will be competing all week long in the CCSA Championships in Athens. On day one, the Owls had second, third and fourth place claims.
"They had an incredible start to the CCSA Championship with six lifetime bests, a third place finish with our 800 free relay and a second place finish from our diver Logan," Head Coach Lara Preacco said. "The men's team really went into this meet giving 100 percent and supporting each other in the best possible way. I am looking forward to an amazing weekend."
Logan Downey made the podium, earning second place in the 1 meter diving event with a score of 351.50. That score is a personal best for Downey and an FAU freshmen record.
The 800 yard freestyle relay team of Colin Kozak, Reilly Maguire, Connor Hodges and Cole Wisecarver also earned a medal, finishing third with a time of 6:40.44. For Kozak, it was the first time swimming his leg of the race in under 1:40.00.
The 200 yard medley relay team of Reilly Maguire, Phillip Crouch III, Sean Arrington and Cole Wisecarver earned fourth place with a time of 1:30.87. Maguire cut a whole second off of his 50 yard time during the event.
