Despite sweeping the 100 and 200-yard breaststroke, Florida Atlantic University women's swim team was not able to come up with a win against the University of Miami as they fell 164-136. Elizabeth Gregory, Ellie Weberg and Christina Horton won the two events for the Lady Owls.
Gregory won the 100 breast in a time of 1:06.23 followed by Weberg's 1:07.14 and Horton's 1:08.82. The three returned six events later to take the 200 breast with Weberg pulling out the win in 2:25.02 followed by Gregory (2:25.29) and Horton (2:27.47).
Other winners included Geni Burts in the 500 breast (4:59.60) and freshman Shawna Griffith in the 200 fly (2:03.59) Griffith currently holds the fastest time in the event in the Sun Belt Conference.
The team will return to action next Saturday when it travels to Miami to face Florida International and Florida State.
