Day One Complete Results

ATLANTA, GA- Florida Atlantic University’s men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams competed on day one of the 2014 Conference USA Swimming and Diving Championship at the Georgia Tech Campus Recreation Center.

Greg Cox recorded the Owls’ top finish on the day earning second-place in the men’s one meter dive with a final score of 296.05. Cox was followed by FAU’s Ryan McIntire and Tyler Aycock in third (293.40) and fourth (257.00), respectively. The men’s team also competed in the 800 yard freestyle relay finishing in fourth-place with a final time of 6:36.39. The team consisted of Matthieu Burtez, Rich Andrews, Austin Olivares and John Walsh.

For the women’s team, Iwona Lefanowicz, Hannah Roper, Anett Kovacs and Katie Dodge competed in the 200 yard medley relay finishing eighth with a final time of 1:45.93. FAU’s women’s 800 yard freestyle relay team consisted of Frida Nilsson, Agi Bucz, Anett Kovacs and Katie Dodge. The team finished sixth with a final time of 7:20.67.

Defending C-USA Champion Rice University holds the lead after the first night of events. The championships will continue on Thursday, Feb. 27.
