In the final meet of the regular season, Florida Atlantic University geared up for the National Independent Conference Championships with a dual meet at the University of Florida. Scott Hobson and Kenny Anderson took first place in the 200-yard breaststroke (1:50.25) and the 100-yard butterfly (50.03), respectively.
Richard Marzonie and Antony Hine finished second in their individual events. Marzonie finished the 100 backstroke in 1:50.25, while Hine swam the 100 breaststroke in 57.28. The men fell to Florida 150-100.
Lisa Andersson claimed second place in three sprint freestyle events to lead the women. In the 200 free she touched the wall in 1:51.43, in the 100 free (52.47) and the 50 free (24.03). She collected 12 points for the women but saw them fall 133-115 to Florida.
The team will next compete at the NIC Championships on February 27 through March 1.
