BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic's swimming and diving team competed in a dual meet at Daytona Beach State College on Saturday, January 2. The women finished in first with a team ranking of 148.5 and overall, the Owls took 12 first-place finishes against DSC.

Sophomore Anett Kovacs claimed victories in three events for FAU. She took first in the 200-yard free (1:55.27) followed by Michala Nowak in second (1:56.03) and Katie Dodge in third (1:57.10). Kovacs also finished first in the 200-yard butterfly (2:03.95) and the 500-yard free (5:03.49).

Florida Atlantic's women's team took five more individual wins with Eszter Bucz in the 1000- yard free and 200-yard breast, Agnes Bucz in the 50 and 100-yard free, and Frida Nilsson in the 100-yard butterfly. The medley relay team consisting Iwona Lefanowicz, Eszter Bucz, Frida Nilsson, and Agnes Bucz beat Daytona State College for first as well.

The men's team picked up wins in three events and finished second overall to DSC 173-88. Matthieu Burtez and Eric Williams took first place finishes in the 200-yard free and 100-yard free respectively. The men's 200-yard freestyle relay team also picked up a win for FAU.

FAU travels to Orlando for the three-day long All Star Meet, February 8-10. The Owls will then compete in the Conference USA Championships in Houston, February 20-23.
