FAU Swimmer Talisa Lanoe Trains for FINA World Championships

Florida Atlantic University swimmer Talisa Lanoe has focused this season's attention on training for the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.


More than 250 FAU Student-Athletes Earn a GPA of 3.0 or Greater for Fall 2012 Semester

Eight student-athletes were named to the president's list after earning a perfect 4.0 GPA for fall 2012.

Freshman (2012-13): Dedicated most of the season to training for the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain...set personal records at FAU in the 50 yard back (29.95), 100 back (1:00.21) and the 200 back (2:06.78)...received academic honors for the fall 2012 and spring 2013 semesters.

High School: Swam for coaches Jon Rudd and Keenan Riffel...was named Sport Person of the Year in 2011 and Female Athlete of the Year in 2009...was the swim team MVP 2008 through 2010...holds all Kenyan national long and short course backstroke records...was given a Top Achiever awards in business, life science and sport science.

Personal: International Business and Trade major...daughter of Shelina Popat and Erwan Lanoe...hopes to get to the Olympics in Rio De Janeiro in 2016...loves sports.
