High School: Attended Fort Lauderdale High School and swam for Jimmy Parmentor. Five-time All-American. Won the State Championship in the 200 IM and was a three-time runner-up. In the 500 freestyle he was a Junior National Champion and is the all-time record holder.

Club: Placed 13th at Nationals in 2001 and was ranked 73rd in the world in the 800 freestyle.
